How can we say that smart phones are purely good for our lives

The increasing risk of Smartphone users coming in contact with virus programs are becoming a worldwide problem. The operating systems of smart phones are similar to that of PCs and because it is usually always connected online, users are at high risk of being contaminated with a virus.
The battle against viruses is an active one and companies are at a struggle to develop vaccine programs which are essential to the prevention of the spread of these viruses. In the case of personal computers, virus infections can be treated rather quickly as vaccine programs are highly advanced. However, the same cannot be said for smart phones. Smart phones have only recently come to light and there are not enough companies developing vaccine programs for these phones and also these vaccines are having trouble keeping up with the ever-increasing new emerging viruses.
Viruses affect smart phones in several ways such as attacking the system to cause system malfunction which usually renders the phone useless. It could also cause hardware failures by forcing some functions of the phones to be disabled. But the biggest threat of them all is the stealing of personal information which can cause serious problems.

Nowadays, smart phones allow us to do things conveniently at the touch of a few buttons. You may purchase items with your phone, you can use it as a navigation tool or you can even make payments online. These various tools that smart phones provide us come at great convenience but the fact that such personal information can be stolen by malicious software are becoming a problem too. For example, a person may use internet banking with their phone to take care of their daily banking needs whether that be checking their balance or sending money to someone else. These login details may be saved on the phone and are prone to theft by malicious software at a later date.
Also, the fact that these smart phones are a very compact size makes it easy for the phones to be misplaced. This has in fact caused a lot of problems for many people. For example, people may set the phone to remember their internet banking passwords for their convenience of not having to type it again the next time they use it. If some other person was to pick this up, they can login with the phone owner’s information and use it to transfer money to their account without much effort.

Smartphone are designed in a way to have easy access to information than most personal computers. Smart phones use what are known as applications and these applications are numbered in the millions and they help us carry out everyday activities with more ease.
Smart phone users can acquire the information they seek at the touch of a button. It is designed in a user-friendly way so that even newcomers to this smart phone generation can quickly adapt and utilize the phone to full potential. As seeking information is easy, so is sharing information with other people.
The exchange of information between people is not limited by anything and as a result, harmful content may spread quickly amongst these smart phone users.
These harmful content may come in various forms such as viruses, violent videos or even adult content.
Everyone is at a risk of exposure but it is particularly the young people that are affected the most. Being at a young age, they are easily influenced by such material and this may cause adverse effects in their near future.
Such cases have been already reported because of the violent content easily available to the young generation on personal computers. Teenagers are turning more violent and anti-social at the same time they are enjoying their games or because of the content available to them online. Smart phones are closely in relation to these criticisms as it is becoming the next portable personal computer itself.

Recently, people are becoming addicted to using their smart phones. They cannot do anything without the aid of the phone or they are obsessed about checking their e-mail accounts and their social networking page every single minute to see if anything new has come up. Smart phones are not a commodity anymore but a necessity to some people and this is now a growing problem worldwide. How can we say that smart phones are purely good for our lives when the problems that it’s causing us are so numerous in number?
